Danvers High School boys soccer superstar Eric Martin and Peabody High girls standout Victoria Digiacomo have been named the male and female Moynihan Lumber Student-Athlete of the Month recipients for October.
Eric was named Player of the Year in the Northeastern Conference Small for the second straight season for the Falcons while guiding them to a league title. He scored 30 goals and 11 assists this season. The reigning Salem News Player of the Year finished his career as Danvers’ all-time leader with 126 points. An Eastern Mass. All-Star, Eric has earned four A’s this fall and is ranked in the seventh percentile of his senior class.
Victoria was named Player of the Year for the NEC Large while helping lead the Tanners to another conference crown and a No. 1 ranking nationally for a stretch this fall. One of the most feared strikers in the area, she scored over 100 points in her career at Peabody High and is among the school’s all-time leading scorers. Academically Victoria ranks in the top 20 in her class of 485 students and also volunteers her time in fundraising activities and youth athletic programs.
