The Boston Lobsters tennis team, now based out of the brand-new Joan Norton Tennis Center at the Manchester Athletic Club, begin their 2013 Mylan World Team Tennis season with a home match on Sunday, July 7.
The Lobsters will play the first of their seven home dates that Sunday against the New York Sportimes.
All Lobsters home matches start at 7 p.m. at Manchester Athletic Club. In total, there will be seven home and seven away matches in the season that runs from July 7-24.
Highlights of the home schedule include: former Top 10 player and two-time Grand Slam finalist, Mark Philippoussis, suiting up for multiple matches for the Lobsters; two visits from the two-time defending league champion Washington Kastles, Monday, July 15, and Sunday, July 21; and a matchup against the Sacramento Capitals, Friday, July 19.
The Mylan WTT is in its 38th season and has eight teams, divided into two conferences. Along with the Lobsters, the Eastern Conference includes the Sportimes, Philadelphia Freedoms and Kastles. The Western Conference has the Orange County Breakers, Capitals, Springfield Lasers and Texas Wild.
