Area roundup: Masco, Fenwick set to square off in tournament final

Wakefield 6, Danvers 3: Danvers scored three first-period goals but was held scoreless the rest of the way and suffered its first loss of the season. A.J. Couto scored two goals and added an assist for Danvers (4-1-1) while Joe Strangie had one goal and one assist.

Peabody 6, Newton North 1: After being held scoreless in their first two games, the Tanners erupted for six goals and a victory. Derek Demild had three goals and one assist for Peabody while linemates Mike Vadala (1-2) and Matt McIsaac (0-3) also had big games.

Reed Foster and Anthony Hartnett also scored for the Tanners, and Cam Smullen and Chris Minter played well.

Swampscott 8, St. Joseph’s Prep 0: Corey Carmody and Trevor Massey each had two goals and one assist, and Griffin Hunt added a pair of goals as the Big Blue advanced to the final of the Deep Freeze Tournament in East Boston. Swampscott (3-1) will play East Boston in the final tonight (8 p.m.).

Ryan Cresta had three assist for Swampscott while Chris Carmen, Robert Serino, and Joe Silva also scored goals.

Lynn 6, Salem 1: Sam Petri scored the lone goal for Salem, which slipped to 1-2-2. Adam Ngo played well on the penalty kill for the Witches.
