Pinrgee 4, Dana Hall 0: Sophomore Jenny Schumer’s first varsity goal stood up as the game-winner as Pingree (4-4, 2-1 EIL) goalie Ally Heffron earned the shutout. Jillian Witwicki had a goal and an assist, Katie Shreenan and Leah Heinze also scored and Olivaia Carmichael, Mac Foster and Kristina Caradonna picked up helpers.
Beverly 5, Gloucester 1: The Panthers (8-0) fell behind for the first time all season before goals from Jake Straw and Connor Irving (2 assists) gave them a lead they never relinquished. Graham Doherty scored twice in the second period and also finished with an assist. Defenseman Nick Albano also scored in the second stanza; Andrew Irving had a pair of assists and Bryce Mitchell made 17 saves.
Swampscott 4, Rockport 1: Freshmen Noah Maercklein, a left wing (2 goals) and goaltender Tristan Bradley (25 saves) both played huge roles for the Big Blue, who continued to impress while improving to 7-1 on the season. Joe Silva and Nunzio Morretti also found the back of the net for the winners, while defensemen Trevor Massey and Chris Carman had their usual strong games. It was the first time all season that the Big Blue had been outshot, but it didn’t stop them from sweeping a home-and-home series from Rockport (2-5) this winter.
Marblehead 9, Salem 0: Trip Franzese had two goals and three assists while Ian Maag scored twice and had a pair of helpers to power the Headers’ (6-2) romp. Eric Fader also had two goals; Top Koopman had a goal and two assists; Ty Bates and Liam Gillis also scored and Erik Powers had three assists to backbone a 14-save shutout performance from Harrison Young.
Salem (1-6-2) got 41 saves in goal from Brett Harring in a little over two periods of play.
Triton 4, Masconomet 2: Trevor Surette and Joe Griffin had game-tying goals in the second and third periods, respectively, but the Chieftains (3-5-1) couldn’t match Triton’s final two markers late in the third period. Captain Alec DiGiorgio assisted on both goals while Jake Jesi and Jared Brann also had helpers. Matt Cardillo, another Masco captain, was busy in goal with 29 saves.
