Thursday's area sports roundup: Cennami ties 37-year-old Peabody track record in 45-yard dash


Marblehead 95, Lynn English 82: The Magicians improved to 5-0 behind three double-winners. Harrison Rodts earned first in the 200 freestyle (1:55.58) and the 500 freestyle (4:58.37); Hannah Verrette won the 50 freestyle (26.12) and the 100 freestyle (57.32); and Charlie Seltzer topped the 200 IM (2:05.67) and the 100 breaststroke (1:08.11).

PEABODY 97, DANVERS 83: Three double-winners propelled the Tanners (4-0-1) to victory. Alex Strakosha won the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke; Maria Strakosha topped the 100 free and 100 breaststroke; and Christine Shea earned first in the 200 free and 100 fly for Peabody. In addition, Paige Hayward and Corey Pierce took first and second, respectively, in the diving.

The Falcons (4-1) dropped their first meet of the season, but not without strong finished from captains Tori Gany and Chris Demirdogen who took first and second place in the 500 freestyle. Tom Giannino finished second in both the 50 free and 100 free, while Josh Mentzer placed second in the 200 IM and 100 fly.

Beverly 92, Swampscott 83: The Panthers improve to 4-1 on the season with a complete team effort victory. Beverly finished with many first place finishes and a handful of second and third place finishes, which really highlights its overall depth.


Bishop Fenwick 117.95, Medford 114.35: Erin Horgan was first in the all-around for Bishop Fenwick (2-1), capturing first on the vault and the bars. Kristen Kilcommons took first on the beam and the floor for the Crusaders while Morgan Camelo was second in the all-around and third on the floor.

Beverly 142.5, hamilton-wenham 118: For the second straight meet, sophomore Heather Gomes has taken first place in the all-around for the Panthers (2-0). Gomes finished with a 37.2 over all with first place wins on vault (9.45) and floor (9.35), and was second on bars (9.2) and beam (9.2). Adrianna Beatrice placed second in the all-around with a 36.9 and took first on bars (9.3) and beam (9.3). Loralee Smith finished third on vault (9.1) and Hannah Rennie place third on bars (8.75).
