Kane said in the future he would be willing to volunteer with the program, and he feels the Crusaders should be in good shape for the future.
Fenwick had seven juniors contributing this year and a couple sophomores. Junior forward Matt Costello was a Catholic Central League all-star this year and classmate Dom Luoni was a CCL all-star as a sophomore.
Kane feels assistants Chris Timson and Ryan Sasso, two former Fenwick star players, will make good coaches someday, but was uncertain about their interest in the vacancy.
“Fenwick was one of the best experiences of my life,” Kane said. “When O’Brien brought me on that first year it was a great opportunity and I realized I really like coaching. I got to move up and earn the job as head coach. I was really happy to have the opportunity.”
