Tuesday's area roundup: Danvers girls earn first win of the season


Swampscott 3, Lynn Classical 1: Co-captain and outside Gina Asipenko hitter led the way for the Big Blue (2-3) with 14 aces and 10 kills. Louisy Cim added 11 aces and five kills, while co-captain and setter Faye Liakopoulos had a season high 25 assists.


Salem State 5, Regis 4: Singles victories from Lauren Woods, Emily Yanchun and Tara Garvey helped the Lady Vikings (1-1) get their first win of the fall at home. Woods and Hillary Gustafson collected a win at second doubles while Yanchun and Garvey teamed to win at No. 3 doubles.


Salem State 8, Becker 0: Freshman Natalie Bourne scored three times to earn her first career hat trick and high-scoring Salem State jumped over the .500 mark at 3-2. Katie Pietrini of Beverly two goals for the winners, Masco grad Lauren Pazdziorny scored once, as did Nicole Bisbee and Maria Giuffrida. Carolyn Woodin made seven saves.

Endicott 1, Westfield State 0: Sophomore Morgan Bresnahan’s winning goal game with 2:45 left in the first half and the Gulls (3-3) held on for a shutout. Goalie Rose Bradley made four saves to blank the Owls.


Framingham State 3, Salem State 0: Salem State fell to 1-2 with game losses of 25-18, 25-14, 26-24. Jerika Santiago and Jazmin Santos were Salem’s leading hitters with five kills each and MacKenzie Carpenter came up with seven digs.


Gordon 6, Clark 1: A hat trick from Andrew Vandervort powered the Fighting Scots (6-0) to another road win. Evan Crocker, Andy Guthrie, Kellen Kasiguran also had goals and goalie Tim Hardy remained spotless on the season.
