Pingree splits: The Highlanders (4-2) defeated Lexington Christian, 21-38, but fell to Newton Country Day 44-14. Blair Kaneb was sixth overall in a time of 22:10, while Ali Knowles (22:45) was seventh and Lauren Menzie finished eighth at 22:46.

St. Mary’s splits: Freshman Sarah Ryan (20:49) came in second as the Spartans’ top finisher of the day. St. Mary’s (2-2) topped Marion 15-50, but fell to Spellman 22-33. Sarah Corbett (21:21) was fifth and Melissa LeFave finished at 22:28.

Ipswich sweeps: Emily DeMarco won the race in 19:48 as the Tigers beat Lynnfield 21-37 and fell to Newburyport 27-42. Annie Zampatella (3rd 20:10) and Maggie Brown (21:08) also ran well for Ipswich.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

North Shore Tech/Essex Aggie 19, Northeast 40: Phil Simonton, Doug Wilson and Michael Tilton took the top three places to guide the Bulldogs (3-0) to victory. Brendan Hurley came in sixth place and Tim Pacini placed seventh.

Masco wins two: Senior captain Harry Kent won the race in 16:43 to help the Chieftains defeat both Pentucket (22-35) and Manchester Essex (23-32). Kyle Faddis (4th, 17:02), Kevin Martin (5th, 17:17), Danny Cosgrove (8th, 17:27) and Charlie Gilfeather (12th, 17:42) also contributed for Masco (6-0).

H-W beats Triton, North Reading: Matt Gillis (17:24) and Mike Allara (17:59) took the top two spots to lead the Generals to wins over Triton (15-48) and North Reading (21-39). Hamilton-Wenham, which improved to 4-2, also got solid performances from John Blatchford (4th, 18:15), Jack Gourdeau (6th, 18:28), Daniel Allara (7th, 18:29) and Sam Erhard (10th, 19:07).

Pingree 24, Lexington Christian 31: Evan Maravelis was the overall winner at 19:03 as the Highlanders remain perfect at 3-0. Kyle Skelton (19:12) and Adam Gerber (19:14) finished second and third respectively.

St. Mary’s sweeps: The Spartans stay perfect at 4-0 after defeating defending Catholic Central League champion Cardinal Spellman, 26-32 and also beat Marion 32-42. Thomas Mackin finished fourth overall at 17:09, followed by Mike Cerulli (17:35) and Matt McManus (17:29) in fifth and sixth respectively.

VOLLEYBALL

Bishop Fenwick 3, Lynnfield 0: The Crusaders cruised to 25-10, 25-13, 25-15 wins. Kate Lipka (19 kills), Jen Crovo (8 kills, 13 digs), Gianna Pizzano (5 kills, 9 digs) and Tessa McLaughlin (33 assists) stood out for Fenwick (7-1).
