Wednesday's area roundup; Buonopane, Masco golf edge North Reading


Peabody 3, Revere 0: Carolyn Scacchi had 18 kills and 14 digs to lead Peabody to 29-27, 25-13, 25-18 wins. Olivia Summitt (13 kills), Jillian Rubin (15 digs) and Ali Gotsegan (17 assists) also played well for the Tanners (7-0).

Masconomet 3, Hamilton-Wenham 0: The Chieftains improved to 5-2 with 25-13, 25-6, 25-20 wins over Hamilton-Wenham. Junior setter Katherine McManus had nine assists and four digs, and sophomore outside hitter Natasha Murray had six service points, including three aces, seven digs and one kill.

Dana Hall 3, Pingree 0: The Highlanders (2-4) were swept (8-25, 22-25, 15-25) in straight sets. Defensive specialist Vanessa Jonah had two service aces and recorded nine digs.

Swampscott 3, Winthrop 0: Outside hitter Gina Asipenko had 11 kils and Faye Liakopoulos had 20 assists as the Big Blue (3-4) swept 25-22, 25-14, 29-27.

Beverly 3, Lynn English 0: Catherine Browns had four kills and five aces, Olivia George played well in her first varsity match and Haley Finick had three kills and 12 points as the Panthers swept 25-19, 25-21, 25-13.


Endicott 3, UNE 0: Callie Dolan had 14 kills to lead the Guls (7-8, 2-0) to a 24-14, 25-14, 24-19 victory. Tori McIntyre had 15 digs and eight kills.


Gordon 2, Bridgewater State 1: Andrew Vandervoort scored two goals and the Fighting Scots (8-0) remain perfect on the season.


Gordon 2, New England College 1: Lauren Hayes and Stephanie Bouilon handled the scoring as Gordon improved to 8-1.

Salem State 3, Eastern Conn St. 1: Swampscott natives Casey Connoly and Kelly Birchmore scored as the Vikings won their third straight. Victoria Clansey also scored and Amy Griffith had two assists.


Gordon 5, Regis 3: Sarah Shannon had the go ahead goal and Brittany Hawkins scored a pair as Gordon outshot the hosts 26-6 and improved to 7-2.
