Area roundup: Pingree beats Hebron with second-half comeback


Salem State 3, Mount Ida 0: The Lady Vikings fell 25-18, 25-23, 27-25 despite a double-double from Jazmin Santos (13 kills, 12 digs). Freshman Morgan Rae Shambo had 23 assists and Salem State fell to 2-12.


Salem State 1, Eastern Conn. 0: Middleton native Lauren Pazdziomy scored her team-best sixth goal of the year as the Lady Vikings snapped a two-game skid and moved to 8-3 on the season.

Endicott 3, Nichols 1: Melissa Enright scored a pair of second half goals as Endicott (8-3, 4-0 CCC) claimed sole possession of first place in the CCC. Stacie Teevens also scored and Taylor Texeira made five saves.


Salem State 6, Rhode Island College 3: The Vikings (6-2, 6-0 LEC) remained unbeaten in Little East action by sweeping the doubles competition. Michelle McEwen/Maddy Ward (8-1), Jessica Spinale/Anna Yaskell (8-3) and April McDermott/Tara Garvey (8-4) were the winners.

Endicott 9, Gordon 0: The Gulls (11-2) swept the rival Scots to earn the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. Amy Heacox (12-0 in singles play) and Brittany Potter are 11-0 in doubles this season and Beverly’s Gina Pinciaro is 10-1 in doubles with Emilie Cloutier.



Westfield State 5, Salem State 0: The Lady Vikings dipped to 6-4-1 on the season with keeper Rachel Ledbetter stopping nine shots.

Endicott 1, Curry 0: Senior Christine Silva notched the game-winning goal for the Gulls in the overtime period. Endicott (7-4-1) had 17 shots on goal, while denying Curry a true shot on goal.


Salem State 2, Westfield State 2:The Vikings, who have won four straight, received goals from Saimir Zepaj (Peabody, MA) and Eryk Fernandez in the opening half. Salem State (7-5-1) held an 11-7 edge in shots for the game and a 4-2 advantage in corners.
