Tuesday's area roundup: Salem State women fall to nationally ranked Tufts


The Tufts women’s basketball team is ranked No. 8 nationally in Division 3 and Salem State got a firsthand look at exactly why the Jumbos hold that lofty ranking last night.

The relentless hosts forced 30 turnovers and dispatched the Lady Vikings 83-44. Tufts remained perfect on the season at 6-0 while Salem State fell to 3-4.

Rachael Carter led Salem State with 15 points while Malissa Saad chipped in seven points and two rebounds and Ashley White added six points to go with three boards. Tufts scored the game’s first eight points aned led by as many as 28.
