Salem News 2013 Volleyball all-star team




Peabody Sophomore


Lead Tanners in assists as team finished the regular season a perfect 20-0 ... Had 23 assists in victory over Methuen ... One of the most talented underclassman players on the North Shore ... Already starting to look at schools such as Boston College and the University of North Carolina ... Teammate Carolyn Scacchi is someone she views as an excellent role model and captain.



Masconomet Senior

Middle hitter

Captain from Topsfield had 19 digs, three blocks and eight kills in a late October match vs. Lynnfield ... Cape Ann All-League choice ... Three-sport team captain, including swimming and softball ... Also a three-sport CAL all-star ... Topsfield native is ranked 17th in her senior class with 4.83 GPA ... Her father has always been her biggest influence athletically.



Bishop Fenwick Senior


Team captain was superb in dishing the ball off with 659 assists this season ... Had outstanding 93.8 serving average ... Co-MVP of the Catholic Central League and CCL all-star ... Finished with 181 digs, 39 aces and 35 kills ... Had 50 assists vs. Central Catholic ... Led team to 22 wins and Division 2 state semifinals ... Had 1,097 assists in her Fenwick career ... Wants to study occupational therapy in college ... 3.6 grade point average.



Salem Senior

Outside hitter

Had a season-high of 18 kills in one match vs. Lynn Classical, tying the Witches' school record ... Team captain ... Constant source of momentum and energy on the court ... Ranks 27th in her senior class at Salem High with a 3.8 grade point average ... Hopes to continue her volleyball career in college ... Says mom has always pushed her to believe in herself and reach her goals.



Hamilton-Wenham Junior

Cape Ann League all-star was always a threat to create offense and score points for the Generals ... Had 12 aces out of 19 serves in one match ... Lists her best individual performance against CAL foe Saugus ... Five-foot-11 standout wants to keep playing volleyball in college ... Constant support from family and friends has helped her become a better player.
