BASEBALL

Beverly Little League will hold a scrap metal drive in April. All citizens are free to deposit their unwanted scrap metal in bins at Harry Ball Field. For more information, call 978-815-6385.

The Peabody High baseball boosters will hold a car wash at Tom's Auto Center on Lowell Street on May 12 from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost is $5 per car. Proceeds benefit the boosters for banquets, awards, scholarships, etc.

Beverly Little League will induct five new members into the Hall of Fame during the Opening Ceremonies on April 29 at 11:30 a.m. The new members will be Ken Doig, Bruce Doig, Tom LoVasco, Rich Lentz and John Donovan.

LEGION BASEBALL

Danvers American Legion Post 180 will hold baseball registration for high school players born on or after Jan. 1, 1993. Players interested in trying out must register in advance by sending name, address, school and date of birth to Danversbaseball@gmail.com. Tryouts will take place May 5 (1 p.m.) and May 6 (1 p.m.) at Twi Field.

FUNDRAISERS

A Comedy Night to benefit the "At Bat for Buddy" Foundation and Scholarship Fund will be held Saturday, April 28, at the Vittori-Rocci Post on Brimbal Avenue in Beverly. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the first comic set to begin at 8 p.m. Cost of the night is $25, which includes light refreshments.
