Hoop Mountain with hold its annual summer basketball camp from August 3-7 at the Higgins Middle School in Peabody. The Championship Basketball Camp for girls at Salem State College will be held July 20-24. This is for ages 9-18 and there will be three divisions for all levels of play. FALL PRACTICES
Danvers High has announced its fall practice starting times. Football meets in the high school locker room on Aug. 24 at 8:30 a.m. for sophomores, juniors and seniors, and 10:30 a.m. for freshman. Football cheering will meet in the Vye Gym on Aug. 24 at 5:30 p.m. Cross country meets behind the field house on Aug. 27 at 8 a.m. and golf meets at Far Corner in Boxford on Aug. 27 at 6 a.m. Boys soccer meets in the Vye Gym lobby on Aug. 31 at 6:45 a.m.; girls soccer meets in the Vye Gym lobby on Aug. 31 at 8:30 a.m. Field hockey meets in the field house on Aug. 31 at 8:30 a.m. For Holten-Richmond Middle School: field hockey meets on Sept. 15 at 2:45 p.m.; cross country meets on Sept. 15 at 2:45 p.m. Each student-athlete is required to have a physical examination annually to be able to participate in sports. All proper physical forms, permission forms and activity fees must be brought to the athletic department during the two weeks prior to the first day of practice or tryouts. A one-hour mandatory meeting for all parents, student-athletes and coaches will be held on Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school field house.
