Area roundup: North Shore Tech trips up Fellowship

BOYS BASKETBALL

North Shore Tech/Aggie 60, Fellowship 31: Freshmen classmates Trace Schaejbe (12 points) and Yordanny Sanchez (11 points) helped the Bulldogs to a home victory. Matt Slaughter also scored 11 for North Shore/Aggie (5-10).

Winthrop 63, Marblehead 45: The Vikings came back in the second half to snap Marbehead's four game winning streak. Senior Jeff Peras led the Magicians (7-9) with 14 points and eight rebounds while Phil Coughlin scored nine and had five rebounds.

Pentucket 65, Hamilton-Wenham 58: A tough second quarter doomed the Generals (10-6), though Steve Tam had a solid night with 19 points and Shane Jenkins scored 13.

Peabody 58, Lynn Classical 50: Jason Hiou had four 3-pointers for a total of 20 points for the Tanners (8-10). Steve Girolamo had nine points and nine rebounds, while Mike Gould finished with 13 points.

Bishop Fenwick 71, Archbishop Williams 64: The Crusaders (4-11) avenged their 26-point loss to the Bishops from earlier in the season. Joe Bucchieri had four steals and led Fenwick with 12 points. Fran Hannon had 10 rebounds and finished with nine points.

Manchester Essex 93, Ipswich 71: Brendan Gallagher made seven 3-pointers for a team high 21 points in Ipswich's losing effort. Eric Fyrer added 12 points and Dan O'Flynn finished with eight.

Pingree 58, Lexington Christian 41: Connor Reardon was strong on both ends of the court with 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Highlanders (15-4), while Johnny Spears finished with 18 points.

Salem 60, Revere 55: Christian Dunston produced 27 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in Salem's win. Billy Muse added all 12 of his points in the second half, while Figie Cruz and Kaleo Jacobs provided a spark for Salem (10-6) off the bench.

Danvers 73, Saugus 39: The Falcons moved to 14-2 behind 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists from Eric Martin. Jon Amico added 13 points, five assists and four rebounds, while Nick McKenna (14 points) and George Merry (13 points) also played well.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

No. Shore Tech/Aggie 39, Felowship 20: Senior captains Kim Schuyler (11 points) and Holly Ryan (five points) paved the way as the Bulldogs (4-12) won for the second time in as many nights.

Pentucket 67, Hamilton-Wenham 37: Cassandra Fibbe had seven points and a good floor game for the Generals (7-9) while Catherine Ecker (five points) and Maggie Hackett were strong all around.

Swampscott 32, Gloucester 31: Ara Talkov led the Big Blue (13-3) in a hard fought, defensive game. Maria Padovani chipped in eight points and Niki Laskaris scored six.

Archbishop Williams 79, Bishop Fenwick 57: Captain Lauren Moulton had 18 points and seven boards and Kate Lipka added 16 points, but Archbishop Williams had a strong first half and held on to drop Fenwick to 8-10.

Lynn Classical 48, Peabody 37: Olivia Summit had a game high 18 rebounds to go along with her eight points in the Tanners' loss. Taylor Provost was Peabody's (6-9) other leading scorer with eight, including one 3-pointer.

revere 30, Salem 22: The Witches (9-7) dropped a home game and were limited to only six field goals in the contest. Rachael Zipper had a tem high 10 points, including one 3-pointer.

Danvers 45, Saugus 44: Kasey Sherry hit a big 3-pointer in the final minute of the game and sunk both free throws on the next position to give Danvers (4-13) the win. Sherry had 17 on the night, Ashley Arnoldy played solid defense and had 8 rebounds to go along with her four points.

Ipswich 59, Manchester Essex 18: The Tigers (13-3) dominated from beginning to end last night, behind Shannon McFayden who had 14 points. Masey Zegarowski chipped in with 12 points and freshman Jordon Morrissey had eight rebounds and four points off the bench.

Marblehead 35, Winthrop 32: Senior captain Kathryn DiGiammarino earned a double-double, with 15 points and 12 rebounds. The Magicians (9-7) were down by seven at the half, but DiGiammarino hit two clutch 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to lead her team to victory. Sophomore Emily Freedland made three 3-pointers for nine points and McKenna Barret finished with five.

BOYS HOCKEY

pingree 11, Roxbury Latin 2: Nolan Redler had three goals and two assists for the Highlanders (9-13-2). Nate Soter finished four assists and two goals and Pingree shutout Roxbury Latin in the third period.
