Olympian Meghan Duggan will join hosts Phil Stacey and Peter Kelley during the North Shore Sports Desk Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on North Shore 104.9 FM. Other guests include Gary Larrabee of North Shore Golf and Tennis Magazine and Joe Rocha, the head golf instructor at Golf Country in Middleton.
HOCKEY
The 31st annual Cape Ann Hockey School will be held in Peabody at the McVann-O'Keefe Rink from Aug. 2-13 and Aug. 16-27. The camp, which focuses on positive motivation and stresses skills, has a two-week program for $300, a one-week program for $180 and specialized one-week programs for girls ages 9-17 (Aug. 16-20 from 3-5 p.m.) and Heads Up Hockey Hitting for players ages 10-14 (Aug. 9-13 and Aug. 23-27 from 3-5 p.m.) also for $180. The two-week and one-week regular sessions run from 8:30-10:30 a.m. (players ages 5-9), 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (ages 9-12) and 5-7 p.m. (ages 13-18). Camp directors include current high school head coaches and current and former North Shore hockey standouts. RUNNING
The inaugural Run For KB 10K Road Race and 1.5 Walk Race will be held on Saturday, Aug. 7 at Asbury Grove in Hamilton. The race, which will be held rain or shine, begins at 9 a.m. (with registration beginning at 7 a.m.). Cost is $20 per runner, and sponsor sheets are available both before the race (at www.runforkb.com) and the day of the race. Runners may also get an entry form at the race's website and mail with your check to Run For KB, c/o 179 Highland Street, Hamilton, MA 01982. CHEERLEADING
Yellow Jackets All-Stars in Danvers will be holding a cheerleading camp the weeks of Aug. 2-6 and Aug. 16-20, both from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost of each camp is $75.
Also, Yellow Jackets will be holding tumbling classes every Monday from 6-7:30 p.m. beginning Aug. 2. Cost of the tumbling classes is $65 per month or $15 per class.

Swampscott High football coaching legend Stan Bondelevitch had a flair for the dramatic.
Virtually anyone who wore a Big Blue uniform on Bondelevitch's watch from 1953-76 and again from 1983-86 can recount his fiery and emotional locker room speeches. They've become part of the Big Blue lore. -
Duggan named captain of Wisconsin women's hockey team
Danvers' Meghan Duggan has been named captain of the 2010-11 Wisconsin women's hockey team, the university and head coach Mark Johnson announced yesterday.
The talented winger is returning to the Badgers for her senior season after taking last year off to compete in the Vancouver Olympic Games. Duggan scored four goals over the course of the Olympics and helped Team USA win the silver medal. -

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Eli Manning and Tom Brady were solid in their final tuneups for the regular season.
And Rhett Bomar may have nailed down the job as the New York Giants' backup quarterback, throwing a 60-yard scoring pass to Duke Calhoun with 1:49 to play as the Giants rallied for a 20-17 victory over the New England Patriots last night. -
Beltre leads Sox to victory over Orioles
BALTIMORE (AP) — Adrian Beltre homered to spark a five-run second inning, and the Boston Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-4 last night to salvage a .500 road trip.
