Area roundup: Salem girls tackle Swampscott on the road

Cardinal Spellman 77, Bishop Fenwick 48: Ryan Connolly and Dom Luoni each scored eight points and Joe Buccheri had six assist for the Crusaders, but it wasn’t enough as Cardinal Spellman snapped Fenwick’s three-game win streak. The Crusaders are now 5-8.

Salem 57, Swampscott 53: Christian Dunston had a solid all-around game with 18 points, seven assists and six rebounds, and Jared Louf-Woods took a critical charge on defense and grabbed a late rebound to help seal the win. Louf-Woods finished with eight rebounds.

Marvin Baez scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and Billy Muse chipped in with 12 points for Salem (10-3).

Masconomet 59, Manchester Essex 55: The Chieftains got great balance to win their seventh straight game. Tighe VanLenten (11 points), Alberto Arenaza (12), Jalen Aho (10) and Jake Rudolph (10) each hit double figures for Masco (7-6 overall, 6-4 Cape Ann League).
