Over the weekend the Beverly girls gymnastics team sent five of its top performers to the Algonquin High School to compete in State Individuals.
The Panthers were well represented as Hannah Rennie (bars), Loralee Smith (vault, bars), Libby Rosenberry (beam), Adrianna Beatrice (all-around) and Heather Gomes (all-around) all took part in Saturday’s meet.
“All the girls competed really well this weekend, putting up strong and clean routines,” said head coach Lauryn Ginsburg.
Gomes finished third in the state with a 37.375. By placing in top six, the sophomore qualified to be an individual competitor at the New England Championship meet on March 9th, also at Algonquin High School.
“Heather did her double back dismount off bars to upgrade her bar routine,” added Ginsburg. “She also stuck the landing which helped her pull out the third place win over many level ten gymnasts in the meet.”
Smith and Beatrice were selected to the Senior National Team, which competes in Fort Meyers Beach, Florida in May. Beatrice and Smith were chosen to represent Massachusetts at the national competition.
