Two local lacrosse players were taken by the Boston Cannons in the Major League Lacrosse Supplemental Draft on Wednesday.
Topsfield’s Craig Bunker, a faceoff specialist, was picked in the eighth round (No. 62 overall), while Danvers’ Tim Langmaid went in the 10th round (No. 78).
Bunker, formerly of Masconomet Regional and Colby College, played for the MLL’s Rochester Rattlers last year. He played in six games and won 51 of 131 faceoffs. He also collected two points and 17 ground balls.
Langmaid, a defenseman, just wrapped up his collegiate career at the University of Delaware last spring. Langmaid, who played for The Governor’s Academy in high school, started 49 of 62 games for the Blue Hens, and he graduated second on the program’s list of all-time caused turnovers with 41. He also finished his career with 91 ground balls.
