DANVERS 3, TRITON 2: Captain Joe Strangie’s goal, his 12th of the season, with 4:32 to play in the third period proved to be the game-winner as the Falcons finished the regular season at 10-6-4, winning the consolation game of the Fournier Division at the 18th annual Newburyport Bank Classic.
Sophomore defenseman Mike Disciullo gave Danvers at 2-1 lead earlier in the third period, going coast-to-coast down the right side before making two moves and getting an excellent shot off for the goal. He later assisted on Strangie’s goal, getting off a low shot from the point that Strangie attacked and put home the rebound.
A.J. Couto scored a first period power play goal for Danvers, with Rob Buchanan and Adam Merry assisting. Sophomore Alex Taylor made nine saves for the win in net, and senior defenseman Kevin Anderson had a spectacular outing as well.
