Behind a four touchdown performance by running back Cody Harwood, St. Johns’s Prep took down Catholic Memorial, 43-25 on the road last night.
Harwood had rushing touchdowns of 14, 1, 25 and 39 yards, and racked up 145 yards on 24 carries. Sophomore Dillon Preston drove in another score for the Eagles (4-2) and ran for 107 yards on 17 carries.
Catholic Memorial took a 18-14 lead into halftime, but the Prep put up 29 second half points and held CM to just seven. Brandan Kahari had two interceptions, while Michael Fawehinmi and Jacob Yish added a pick each.
“Harwood and Preston did a nice job and they stepped up with Johnny (Thomas) out. Our offensively line was excellent, blocked well and opened up holes,” said St. John’s Prep offensive coordinator Jameson Pelkey. “The balance is where we want it.”
Quarterback Michael Geaslen threw for 210 yards, including a 60-yard TD pass to Owen Rockett. Jake Burt had six receptions for 48 yards and added to the offensive surge.
Salem 21, Revere 14: Anferne Jimenez recorded two touchdowns to help the Witches to their first win of the season.
