Calling Audibles: Getting to know the area's high school quarterbacks

Editor’s note: The following is an offbeat Q&A providing unique insight into the players lining up under center and calling signals on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons across the North Shore.

Masconomet Senior

What is your favorite subject in school?: American history.

What is your favorite play to run during a game?: Counter pass.

Is there any special meaning behind your jersey number?: I’ve always worn the number 14, since youth football. It’s always been my favorite number.

What is your favorite TV show or movie?: Remember the Titans.

Who are your favorite college QBs to watch?: The New England Patriots’ Tom Brady.

How do you think the Red Sox will do in the playoffs?: They’ll win the World Series.

Do you have any pre-game superstitions or rituals?: I listen to the same playlist before every game. I drink the same drink and eat the same type of protein bar before every one.

What’s the best advice you’ve received before a game?: “Stay relaxed. You know what to do. Go do it.”

What’s your favorite sport to play or watch besides football?: I enjoy watching NHL hockey and I also play baseball.

What is the best sports game you’ve ever been to in person?: When my brother and cousin were both seniors for Masco playing against Ipswich. With five seconds left, my cousin (Craig) threw a hail mary to my brother (Eric) to beat the undefeated Ipswich team. I was a water boy at the game (which was in 2006).

What’s the best book you’ve read?: ‘The Blind Side’

Whats your dream car?: A Ford Mustang

If you could throw to one receiver or tight end from the NFL in a game, who would you choose?: Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions. All I would need to do is throw it up and he would do the rest.
