Weekend area roundup: Marblehead's Randall, Beverly's Walsh win titles at Twilight


Endicott 3, Curry 0: Madison Missinne’s goal 39 seconds into the contest proved to be the only tally that Endicott (10-5-1 overall, 5-1 CCC) would need. Laura Wysocki and freshman Shelby McLenithan also scored, Missinne added an assist and Katie Donnelly earned her fifth shutout in the Gulls’ cage, stopping 11 shots.


Gordon 5, Roger Williams 2: Courtney Scott had a terrific game with three goals and an assist, giving her 27 tallies on the season, as the Scots (12-4) broke the contest open with three unanswered goals. Collette Newcombe and Karli Balmer were the other goal scorers for Gordon, while got three saves from netminder Anna Bury as well.

Plymouth State 5, Salem State 4: Lauren Pazdziorny of Middleton had a goal and two assists in the Vikings’ home setback on ‘Think Pink Day.’ Beverly’s Katie Pietrini also scored for Salem State, as did Kelsey Russell and Nicole Bisbee. Carolyn Woodin made nine saves in goal.

Nichols 2, Endicott 1: The Gulls dropped to 7-8 on the season despite a rebound goal from junior Emily Sawchuck. Senior goaltender Lizetta Solarik was busy in the Gulls’ cage, making 17 stops.


Bridgewater State 9, SSU 0: The Vikings dropped to 3-9 overall and 2-6 in the Little East Conference.


Endicott Sweeps: The Gulls defeated MCLA (25-13, 25-12, 25-8) and Salem State (25-19, 25-9, 25-12) both by a score of 3-0 to improve to 17-12 on the season. Alleigh VandeMerkt recorded her 1000th assists of the season in the win over SSU.

SSU Splits: The Vikings defeated MCLA 3-1 before being blanked by Endicott. MacKenzie Carpenter (Peabody) led Salem State with 39 assists and 10 digs in the win over MCLA which was the Vikings first Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference win of the season.
