The 5-foot-10, 160-pound Duggan, a forward known as much for her defensive dominance as her offensive prowess, has scored 33 goals and chipped in with 23 assists in 86 career games playing for Team USA dating back to 2007. She is a force on the power play and also counted on to kill penalties, and is a mainstay on the ice in the final minutes of close games.
This will be Duggan’s second trip to the Olympics with Team USA; she helped her squad win a silver medal at the 2010 Games in Vancouver.
“Every team you’re on and everyone you work with really builds your character as well as the character of the team,” said Duggan. “I’ve been blessed to have played alongside some great people that I have learned from, as well as a great staff that I’ve been able to learn from.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to kind of take what I’ve learned and try to lead the team in the right direction.”
