Thursday's area roundup: Endicott volleyball punches ticket to CCC final

COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL

The Endicott College volleyball team avenged one of its regular season losses and in the process advanced to the Commonwealth Coast Conference championship game by beating Salve Regina, 3-1, on the road last night.

The Gulls (22-14) won 25-22, 21-25, 25-14 and 25-23 to earn the right to travel to Roger Williams for the championship match on Saturday.

Callie Dolan delivered a match-high 15 kills for Endicott, which swung momentum with a big win in the third set and didn’t let the hosts recover in the back-and-forth fourth.

Lexi Watts (10 kills) and MacKenzie Guerre (13) also hit double-digit kills for the Endicott attack, and Tori McIntyre collected 14 digs with seven kills. Erika Trudon had a strong defensive game with 28 digs and setter Alleigh Vandemerkt picked up 41 assists.
