Weekend roundup: Endicott women beat Gordon in PKs to win CCC



Roger Williams 3, Endicott 0: The Gulls lost in the Commonwealth Coast Conference finals. Callie Dolan was outstanding for Endicott with 12 kills while Tori McIntyre and Lexi Watts combined for 11 kills.

Endicott is now 21-15 and will wait to see if it is chosen to play in a postseason game.


Hamilton-Wenham 21, Triton 7: Senior Ian Dickey ran for 117 yards and scored what proved to be the winning touchdown early in the fourth quarter as the Generals ended the home portion of their schedule with a 4-1 mark. Cam Macri also ran for 98 yards and a touchdown for Hamilton-Wenham (4-5).

Jack Clay connected with Christian Ecker for a 6-yard touchdown pass.

“Triton is a good football team. They beat Masco and one of their losses was to Pentucket by a point,” Hamilton-Wenham coach Andrew Morency said. “They are a formidable opponent and the kids really played a complete game. We ended with a 4-1 home record and despite all things the kids really played tough at home.”

Morency said the game ball was given to the offensive line.

North Shore Tech 42, Chelsea 3: Yordany Sanchez returned the opening kickoff 70 yards for a score, then added another 70-yard kickoff return just before halftime as North Shore improved to 6-3. Dan Bailey ran for 68 yards and a touchdown while Ian LaFavour and Mike Nuernberg also had touchdown runs.

LaFavour picked off two passes and Bailey had 14 tackles, including six unassisted and four for a loss.


Pingree girls, boys run well at New England Championships: Blair Kaneb ran a personal best 21:23 and finished 13th to help the Pingree girls place third out of 11 teams at the New England Division 4 Championships. Lauren Menzie was 14th in 21:26 and Ali Knowles came in 22nd in 22:17 to help the Highlanders.

On the boys’ side, Adam Gerber (7th, 17:25) and Evan Maravelis (9th, 17:39) each finished in the top 10 as Pingree took fourth out of 29 teams. Kyle Skelton came in 18th in 18:01.
