Rain delays Massachusetts Little League Final Four

The Peabody West Little League all-star team couldn’t wait to get on the diamond to start their pursuit of a Massachusetts state championship, but rain yesterday forced them to wait at least one more day before getting back in the batter’s box.

Peabody is scheduled to begin the round robin portion of the Massachusetts Final Four today against Hanover at 5 p.m. The tournament continues on Saturday at 2 p.m., when Peabody West plays Holden. The Tanner City kids’ postponed game from last night against Newton Southeast will now be played on Sunday at 6 p.m.

The top two teams will then advance to the state championship game, which has been rescheduled for Monday at 7 p.m.

Parkway Little League is hosting the tournament at the Guy Cammarata Complex in West Roxbury, which is located at 299 Baker Street near Catholic Memorial High School.
