Endicott did all the scoring it would need to in the first inning of yesterday’s battle with MIT.
The Gulls scored three times in the opening frame and held off MIT for a 3-2 win, making it the fifth straight victory for Endicott in the series.
E.J. Martinez drilled a two-run triple to give Endicott a 2-0 lead. He scored the third run later in the inning when Eric Lemke got caught in a rundown.
Brendan Pittsley improved to 2-0 by scattering four hits over 6 1/3 innings. He struck out five and walked only one. Kevin Dupras worked the final 2 2/3 innings to pick up his second save of the season.
Brett Holmgren and Colin Sitarz each had two hits and scored one run apiece for Endicott (7-4).
