Monday's area roundup: Marblehead comes from behind to win opener


MASCONOMET 15, PENTUCKET 3: The host Chieftains (1-2) secured their first victory as sophomore Cam Jung and junior Max Craig both netted four goals. Trevor Surette chipped in with three goals while freshman Mitchell Godett had two scores. Harry Cwik and Jake Jesi also had goals, with Henry Behrens, Jung and Cwik all picking up two assists. Tighe VanLentin (2 saves) and Jonathan Schiff (5 saves) each played one half in goal.

TRITON 10, IPSWICH 7: Sophomore Connor Killian scored twice and assisted on two others, but visiting Triton scored eight times in the second half to drop Ipswich to 0-3. Connor McAdams also had a pair of goals while Jamie Iwanicki, Chris McCormick and Elliott Bates each added one.

Bishop Fenwick 11, Marian 10: Senior Troy Reinold had three goals and four assists and sophomore Kyle Russell scored three times as the Crusaders picked up the victory. Mark Nalesnik had two goals and two assists, Chris Napolitano scored twice including his first career goal, P.J. Usalis had his first of the season and goalie Jake Brennan made 10 saves.

Gloucester 12, Peabody 9: Senior Keefer Heckman had three goals and three assists and Ryan Wolff scored twice with one assist but the Fisherman made a late run to hand Peabody (2-1) its first loss. Nick Oullette had two goals and two assists and Andrew Najjar played well in the midfield for the Tanners.

Hamilton-Wenham 10, Lynnfield 5: Parker Strong, Christian Ecker and Cameron Macri each scored two goals as the Generals moved to 2-1. Jake Merrill, Matt Curran, Logan McCulloch and Jimmy Littlefield also scored for HW.

Salem 13, Revere 3: The Witches remained unbeaten (4-0) thanks to big games from Chad Coehlo (4 goals, 2 assists), Peter Slattery (4-0), Mat Muse (1-5), and Matt Wilson (2-2). Todd Dunlap and Matt Jalbert each had one goal. Christian Costa (5 saves) and Kevin Nguyen (4 saves) split the goalie duties.

St. John’s Prep 14, Malden Catholic 3: Andrew Gallahue pumped in five goals and Shawn Waldron added three to highlight the Prep’s victory. Derek Osbahr won every faceoff and goalie Dom Hooven made six saves. Anthony Merullo did well scooping ground balls.
