The 12th annual Beverly Panthers Football Youth Skills Clinic will be held at Beverly High School the week of July 7-11. The clinic is for players in the 2nd grade through 7th grade and is open to all on the North Shore. The emphasis is for all participants to learn skills for each position (offense/defense). Each day will conclude with games of flag football organized by age. No previous experience or equipment is necessary. Cost is $95, with registration taking place through the Beverly Parks and Recreation Department. The new head coach for Danvers High Football will be holding the first annual Falcon Youth Football Clinic this summer. In conjunction with the Danvers Recreation Department, coach Shawn Theriault will hold the clinic Monday through Friday, July 28 through Aug. 1, at the DHS football field. The clinic will be split into two groups: youth entering fourth, fifth and sixth grade, and youth entering seventh and eighth grade. The clinic will be held each day from 9 a.m. to noon. Theriault and his coaching staff will run the clinic, along with the captains of the 2014 varsity team. The clinic will focus on football fundamentals, stances, starts, and the overall basics of football positions. The seventh-and eighth-graders will also work on installation of plays, as well as run 7-on-7 games and linemen challenges. Register online at

The Pingree School will be hosting a football clinic for boys in grades 6-9 from July 28-August 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with college players from Amherst, Merrimack, Assumption and Trinity among the coaches. Participants will develop skills in all aspects of each position from stance and footwork to game strategies. Camp days include warm-ups, agility training, position training and 7-on-7 games with lunch provided. The clinic is directed by Pingree head coach Chris Powers and costs $125. Kernwood Country Club in Salem will host the 2014 Massachusetts Golf Association’s Amateur Championship on July 14-18. Spectators are welcome to come to the course and cheer on the best golf talent in the state.


The Sixth Annual BHS Basketball Golf Tourney will be held on Monday, July 28 at the Ipswich Country Club. It’s the biggest fundraiser of the year for the team with sponsorship opportunities that include; Bogie ($50), Par ($100), Birdie ($125) and Hole-in-One ($675).


The Masconomet Baseball Clinic will be held in three different sessions by state championship-winning coach T.J. Baril at the high school in Boxford.
