Cornell University freshman Mary Keroack of Marblehead was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for women's soccer. She had two first-half tallies in a 7-0 win over Delaware State this past weekend and is tied for the Ivy League lead in scoring with four points.

HOCKEY

YOUTH BASKETBALL

The Peabody Basketball Association is holding registration for the upcoming 2010/2011 season at the McCarthy School Gymnasium on Lake Street in Peabody. Dates for registration are tomorrow from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. and Thursday Sept. 16, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. All new players are required to bring birth certificates. The cost for 7 and 8-year-olds will be $125 while the cost for kids ages 9 and older will be $150.

RUNNING

The Coastal 5K Run for the Beach is set for Sunday at Lynch Park in Beverly, beginning at 10 a.m.. The $25 entry fee is tax deductible. Proceeds benefit Salem Sound Coastwatch Adopt a Beach program, a local non-profit environmental organization working to keep beaches and coastal waters clean.
