Prep star DiLisio tied for 6th at AJGA tourney

MARBLEHEAD — St. John’s Prep sophomore Steven DiLisio of Swampscott sits in a three-way tie for sixth place after one round of play at the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Junior at Tedesco Country Club.

DeLisio shot a 1-over par 71 yesterday, which puts him three strokes off the lead heading into today’s second round. Samuel Uhland of Jacksonville leads the way with a 2-under 68, followed by Ian Kelsey of Deerfield, Ill. (69).

Paul Lei of Middleton and Justin Serowik of Marblehead both carded 5-over 75s, while Topsfield’s Charlie May fired a 76. Owen Picariello shot 77 and Colin Natale of Danvers finished with a 79.

The 54-hole stroke play competition continues today at Tedesco starting at 7:30 a.m. and will conclude with the final 18 holes tomorrow. The event features 72 boys (as well as 24 girls in their own division) from 18 states as well as the District of Columbia, Canada and Argentina.
