The Fifth Annual Beverly High School Basketball Golf Outing will be held on Monday, July 29 at Ipswich Country Club. Cost is $150 per golfer for the 18-hole scramble, with registration beginning at 6:30 a.m. followed by a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start. The outing will include golf, games, raffles, prizes, and lunch. Fernando Braz’s Going the Distance coaching service will hold its annual North Shore “speed and conditioning” program for individuals ages 10 through high school at Bishop Fenwick High School. The five weeks of on-site core program begins today. The on-site sessions will be conducted three mornings a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays . The program’s goal is to develop and enhance the athlete’s fitness and conditioning for all sports through sessions that improve speed, quickness, balance, agility, form, and sport specific technique. A charity women’s softball tournament in memory of Nancy Borders will be held August 23-25 at Harry Ball Field in Beverly. Cost is $350 per team for the double-elimination format. Each team is guaranteed two games and teams must register by July 15. The rain date is set for September 7-9, also at Harry Ball Field.
