agateHed:STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING

Fernando Braz’s Going the Distance coaching service will hold its annual North Shore “speed and conditioning” program for individuals ages 10 through high school at Bishop Fenwick High School. The five weeks of on-site core program begins today. The on-site sessions will be conducted three mornings a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays . The program’s goal is to develop and enhance the athlete’s fitness and conditioning for all sports through sessions that improve speed, quickness, balance, agility, form, and sport specific technique. A charity women’s softball tournament in memory of Nancy Borders will be held August 23-25 at Harry Ball Field in Beverly. Cost is $350 per team for the double-elimination format. Each team is guaranteed two games and teams must register by July 15. The rain date is set for September 7-9, also at Harry Ball Field. The Next Level North Shore Lacrosse Clinic will take place July 22-25 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Higgins Middle School in Peabody for boys ages 8-16. The clinic director is Bryan Molk.
