Salem 12, Hamilton-Wenham 2: Right-hander George Hillios of Beverly needed just 61 pitches to hold Hamilton-Wenham to three hits over six innings as Salem 910-5) won by the 10-run mercy rule.Tim Ryan and Troy Curtin paced the offense for the winners with two hits, two runs scored and two RBI apiece. Cody Mercier added two hits and scored twice while Zach LeBlanc had two hits and an RBI.

Beverly 4, Bistany 0: Nick Colanto fired a complete-game 2-hitter with four strikeouts to power the Recs (12-9-1) to victory. He was helped by the defensive play of center fielder Dillon Gonzalez, who corralled four putouts. J.C. Colette and Adam Johnson led the Beverly offense with a hit and an RBI apiece.
Champions 4, Kingston 1: Bryan Garrity had a double and scored twice while also playing stellar defensively behind the plate as Champions Pub improved to 12-6. Kyle Multner and Derek Lyons also scored runs in the win while center fielder Mark Shorey, who also had a terrific contest in the field, drove home a run with a single. Greg Ladd picked up the win on the hill, striking out six over 5 2/3 innings before Mike Gallo (2 K’s) got the final four outs for the save.

Dirt Dawgs 8, Navigators 7: North Shore allowed two runs in the top of the ninth inning to fall to 15-17 on the season. Opie Brodbeck had a three-run double to spark the Navs’ offensively while Pat Raley had a two-run single and former St. John’s Prep standout Justin Peluso earned an RBI on a bases-loaded walk. Derek Hirsch added an RBI single for the hosts.

Swampscott’s DiLisio finishes fifth: Steven DiLisio of Swampscott shot a final round 72 yesterday to finish with a three-day total of 218, good for fifth place overall at the American Junior Golf Association’s Junior Championship at Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead. The sophomore from St. John’s Prep finished plus-8 for the 54-hole tournament, four strokes behind winner Conor Rodrigues of Kingston, Ontario.
Other locals in the field included Topsfield’s Charlie May (225 total), Justin Serowik of Marblehead (233), Paul Lei of Middleton (235), Owen Picariello of Marblehead (236) and Colin Natale of Danvers (244).
