Ouimet Memorial Tournament cut short due to rain

Matt Parziale was crowned champion of the 46th Francis Ouimet Memorial Tournament at Woodland Golf Club in Auburndale yesterday. After a five-hole playoff to win, Parizial (Brockton) was crowned the winner as he combined for a 138 (four under par) over the past two-days.

The tournament, normally a three-day 54-hole event played at three different courses, was cut to 36 holes after due to wet weather the past two days. Because of the rain, tournament officials decided to cancel the final round, but have the players tied for the lead (Parizal, John Flaherty and Cody Paladino).

Alex Kane and Nick Pandelena were among some of the locals to finish at the top. They both were six strokes back and tied for 11th at 145. Charlie May and Nick McLaughlin wrapped in 12th, one stroke back of them at 146 total.
