2013 Salem News Girls Basketball All-Stars



Ipswich, Senior


Vocal team leader sparked her team to the Division 3 North semifinals for the second straight season ... Recorded 20 or more rebounds on four different occasions this year ... Named CAL Small co-MVP and was also awarded the Institution for Savings Christmas Tournament MVP ... Holds a 4.0 GPA and plans on studying business next year in college ... Co-captain scored 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds against Wings Academy during the Tigers' New York City road trip. 


Danvers, Junior


5-foot-11 center has developed into an ideal post player for the Falcons averaging 7 rebounds per game ... NEC all-star and captain-elect's best game against Wilmington in the playoffs in which she scores 14 points ... Two-year varsity player managed to score 202 points this season with a 9.1 ppg. average, despite being double-teamed most games ... Holds down a 3.3 GPA and plans on playing basketball in college ... Her highest scoring game came against Marblehead when she had 15 points and 11 rebounds.


Marblehead, Junior


Led the Magicians in scoring with 241 points this season ... Averaged 12.1 points per games and hit 36 three-pointers on the year ... Holds a 3.71 GPA ... Credits her family as her biggest influence ... A two-time Salem News and NEC all-star ... Named Team Offensive Player of the Year ... Best game came against Salem in which she hit a late free-throw with two second left to send the game into overtime, finished the game with 16 points, eight rebounds and eight steals. 


Swampscott, Senior


Perhaps the area's most versatile player could do it all ... Columbia-bound senior is the area scoring leader, averaging 16.3 ppg. ... Two-time NEC Small MVP missed a significant amount of time due to an ankle injury ... Was named Swampscott's Student-Athlete of the Month last December and boasts a 3.8 GPA ... Best game came against Saugus, in which she scored 25 points ... The Big Blue faltered with Talkov out of the lineup, but nearly made the tournament once she returned.
