Area roundup: Massey out-duels Daly as Swampscott edges Marblehead

Lynnfield 20, Ipswich 2: Meredith Kercher and Jill Lombard scored the two runs for the Tigers. Freshman left fielder Carly Coughlin had two hits and two RBI in the loss.

Shawsheen 10, North Shore Tech/Essex Aggie 3: Kaera Wyse pitched well for the Bulldogs, allowing eight hits over 6 2/3 innings and striking out three, but took her first loss of the season. Krystal Dion went 3 for 4 with an RBI and Rhiannon Lane added two hits for North Shore (4-2).

agateHed:BOYS LACROSSE

Peabody 8, Swampscott 7: Keifer Heckman scored the game-winning goal with 13 seconds left in overtime as the Tanners improve to 6-3. Nick Oulette finished with one goal and four assists, Ryan Wolff netted two goals and Josh Fiore added a goal and assist in the win.

Minuteman 15, North Shore Tech/Essex Aggie 14: Dan McCormack pumped in eight goals, but the Bulldogs got edged by Minuteman. Ian Lefavour (3 goals), Cam Smallidge (2) and Max Sciola (1) also scored for North Shore (1-6). Bruce Lamb also played well in the faceoff X.

Beverly 9, Gloucester 2: Brendan Flaherty scored three goals and added one assist to record his 100th career point as Beverly improved to 8-1. Dom Abate added two goals and two assists, Nick Albano produced four assists, Brian Williams scored three times, and Ryan Shipp contributed one goal and one assist for the Panthers. Kevin Lally made nine saves and Andrew Irving and Ty Martz each caused three turnovers.

Austin Prep 22, Bishop Fenwick 20: Annette Ruggiero scored a team-high eight goals, though the Crusaders (4-5) lost in overtime. Grace Celona added four goals, while Tessa McLaughlin (three goals), Natalie Emerson (three goals), Anna Moulton (two goals) and Caroline Crawford (one goal) all contributed to the offense.

Wilmington 19, Swampscott 8: Alexa Goldman had scored three goals and Bridget Lawless notched two for the Big Blue (1-5). Chloe Dorgan, Catt Singley and Olivia Leach also each scored once.
