Thursday's area roundup: Michel, Hamilton-Wenham shut down Saugus

BOYS LACROSSE

Pentucket 8, Ipswich 7: Eddie Flaherty was excellent on defense for Ipswich (2-3), goalie Jeff Statile made 13 saves and junior attacker Connor Killian finished with a hat trick.

Masco 12, Lynnfield 0: Max Craig (three goals, three assists), Harry Cwik (two goals, two assists) and Harrison Moody (two goals) carried the Masco (5-2) offense while senior Jay Kraunelis (seven saves) and freshman Joe Bucceri (two saves) combined for the shutout.

Salem 14, Lynn 0: Matt Jalbert exploded for seven goals and Salem bumped its record to 4-3. Peter Slattery (three goals and five assists) and Matt Muse (two goals and four assists) were the other top guys offensively while JC Nova, Steve Moutsoulas and JT Kapnis played outstanding defense in front of Christian Costa (eight saves).

Marblehead 12, Gloucester 5: Dean Fader potted four goals, Max Orrock added a pair of markers and goalie Nathan Maselek made 13 saves for Marblehead (3-3).

Beverly 12, Malden Catholic 7: Junior Nick Albano had four goals and three assists, while Jordan Rawding and Roderick McFarland each had two goals as the Panthers improve to 5-1. Senior Ty Martz had a goal and caused five turnovers in the win; Matt Page and Hunter Spencer each had a goal and an assist, and Ian Butler also scored.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Masconomet 14, Lynnfield 5: Sarah Yeakel (four goals, one assist), Caroline Shipman (three goals, one assist) and Sammy Dindo (three goals) powered the Masco (3-2-1) offense with Yeakel and Shipman also being major contributors in the transition game. Defensively, Becky Stone played well in front of goalie Kaitlin Dierze, who made 11 saves.

Ipswich 12, Pentucket 6: The scoring was spread out for Ipswich (4-1) with junior Ellie Swenson recording a goal and three assists and JoAnna Perry adding a pair of goals and one assists.

Swampscott 15, Winthrop 4: Priscilla Sullivan tallied a team-high six goals for Swampscott (2-3-1) while Mackenzie Roberston and Lauren Sullivan both had hat tricks.
