JCC Sea Serpents finish swim-a-thon

MARBLEHEAD — The Jewish Community Center (JCC) Sea Serpents swim team recently saw 30 of its young swimmers complete 2,000 laps in the pool to raise nearly $5,000 for a swim-a-thon.

The money raised will go towards a new automatic timing system and diving blocks for the team.

A season-ending banquet for the swimmers and their families followed, with the following swimmers receiving awards:

Most Improved Female Swimmer: Christianna Bostley of Marblehead

Most Improved Male Swimmer: Colin McRae of Swampscott

Most Dedicated Female Swimmer: Anna Coleman of Marblehead

Most Dedicated Male Swimmer: Ely Wallen of Swampscott

Sportsmanship Award: Samuel Caplan of Swampscott

Outstanding Swimmer: Carly Sontz of Marblehead
