Tuesday's area roundup: Masco boys tennis tops North Andover

Lynn Classical 4, Swampscott 2: Sophomore Corey Bleau pitched well in relief, firing 4 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball. Brendan McDonald went 1 for 2 with a sacrifice fly for the Big Blue (2-9).

Masconomet 12, Ipswich 2: Senior catcher Mike Manni ripped two doubles, scored two runs, drove in three and stole a base to help Masco (10-0) pull away from Ipswich. Chris Rich added two hits, a run, an RBI and a stolen base. Ethan Dyer earned the win, scattering five hits and striking out nine in six innings of work.

Salem Academey 13, Edward M Kennedy 3: Sam Koppens went the distance with nine strikeouts to pace Salem Academy. Andrew Mesrovian stole four bases, scored three times and had two hits while Sammy Benoit had two hits and three RBI and Ben Craven had two hits and two RBI.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Danvers 15, Beverly 14: Rachel Trocchi’s goal with 31 seconds left broke a 14-14 tie and helped the Falcons improve to 8-2 on the season. Goalie Cara Connors made an outstanding save to stop Beverly from tying it up in the last seconds and Meghan McKenna totaled four goals.

North Shore Tech/Essex Aggie 11, Greater Lowell 6: Jennifer Luces finished with five goals and two assists to lift the Hawks (4-5). Anna Hariman finished with three goals and one assist; Kaleigh Stirrat had two goals and an assist; Jillian Morrell had a goal; Shirley Bachini had an assist and goalie Morgan Cobuzzi finished with 13 saves. Steph Campbell won a majority of draws to give her team ball control, while Brittany Soper excelled on defense and Kelsey Ballard did likewise at midfield.

Waring 14, Gann Academy 6: Senior captain Eleanor Lustig and junior captain Sara Kessler each scored four goals to lead Waring (4-1) to victory. Freshman Merylin Heinrich added two goals and freshman goalie Katrina Pappas played well.

BOYS LACROSSE

Georgetown 6, Ipswich 4: Nick Depasquale had four goals and one assist to help the Royals win their third game of the year. Jared Warren scored a goal with two assists while Mike Gochakowski scored, Tom LaCasse had two assists and netminder Scott Conte made 11 saves.
