Wicked Running Club is now accepting scholarship applications through June 2. Four scholarships will be awarded to high school and college runners with funds raised by the Frosty Four race. Requirements are being an Essex Country resident and participating in cross country or track as a high school senior. Scholarships will be awarded based on a combination of academic achievement, contributions to their team, volunteer/community work and quality of application and essay. Perfect Balance Conditioning in Salem, will be hosting in an ACL injury prevention clinic in collaboration with The Micheli Center for Sports Injury Prevention on On Saturday, May 10th from 9-10 a.m. This free event is geared toward athletes of all ages, coaches, athletic trainers, and more.


Danvers American Legion Post 180 Baseball is holding registration for high school and college-aged players (born on or after January 1, 1995). Potential players are asked to send their name, address, school and date of birth to Tryouts will be held on Sunday, May 11 and 18 at 12:30 p.m. at the Twi-Field in Danvers.


Beverly Legion Post 331 is once again sponsoring a Junior Legion Baseball Team for the 2014 season. This is opportunity for all players ages 15–17 who live in the Beverly High, Hamilton-Wenham Regional and Salem High communities to play Legion baseball. Jason Hyland, a former Beverly Legion star, will serve as this year’s head coach. There will be a ‘Meet The Coach’ meeting on May 8 at the Herman A. Spear Post 331 on 3 Judson Street in Beverly starting at 7 p.m., where the 2013 program and the team’s 19-game schedule (which starts June 6) will be reviewed.
