Monday's area roundup: Sullivan's performance lifts Big Blue baseball by Peabody


North Reading 10, Ipswich 5: The Tigers trailed by five and came back to tie it, 5-5, but the Hornets scored five in the sixth to come away with the win. Katie Lynch only walked two and catcher Skyler Hambley threw out to baserunners in addition to a single. Caroline Lynch and Jill Lombard also had RBI.

Arlington Catholic 3, Bishop Fenwick 1: Senior Natalie Moore reached on a dropped third strike, was sacrificed to second base and scored on classmate Chandler Wilder scored her with an RBI single for Fenwick’s (7-4) only run. Jen Crovo was 2-for-3 for the Crusaders, who finished with five hits.

Masconomet 9, Manchester Essex 3: Senior pitcher Emily Dow picked up her ninth win of the season as the Chieftains improve to 9-2 on the year. Dow reached base three times and scored two runs for Masco. Freshman Mackenzi Saitta went 3-for-3 with a double, two singles and drove in three runs.

Pingree 17, Berwick 0: Christina Chalmers gave up one hit and struck out nine to lift Pingree to its seventh consecutive win. Gabby Munez went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, Jill Witwicki finished 2-for-4 including a pair of RBIs and Chalmers went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Salem Academy 16, Prospect Hill 1: Tara Deschenes picked up the win, while Jenn Gorman and Emily Edge led the Navigators (5-0) offensively.

North Shore Tech/Essex Aggie 12, Whittier 4: The Hawks put together eight straight hits and scored nine times in the top of the 12th to win a wild game. North Shore trailed 2-0 in the seventh before tying it to force extras, and took a 3-2 lead in the eighth before Whittier returned the favor. Kaera Wyse struck out a season-high 19 batters in going all 12 frames. Offensively, Dianna Leblanc went 4-for-7 while Kasey Harris had three hits and two RBI and Krystal Dion had three hits and one RBI.
