DANVERS — St. John’s Prep will induct eight former student-athletes, six state championship teams and a current coach into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame this Saturday on campus at 9 a.m.
The induction ceremony will take place in the Commencement Tent on Ryken Field.
The alumni-athletes to be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame during the 24th induction ceremony are Michael Clement (Class of 1974) who is being inducted posthumously; Patrick Barry (Class of 1978) of Boxford; Brian Currie (Class of 1979) of Studio City, Calif.; Michael Thibault (Class of 1983) of Haverhill;Austin Hover (Class of 1993) of Rocky River, OH; Daniel Pucci (Class of 1994) of Orlando; Sean Greely (Class of 1998) of Marblehead and Nathan Cote (Class of 1999, of Lancaster, Penn.
In addition, Eagles’ wrestling coach Manny Costa of Danvers, who has more than 500 career victories as head coach at St. John’s Prep, will also be inducted for outstanding achievements in coaching.
The teams being honored during the event are the state championship fencing teams of 1988, 1989 and 1990; the state championship football teams of 1966 and 1967; and the state championship ski team of 1989.
