Peabody 13, Wakefield 12: Senior Courtney Hennigan notched the game-winning goal with 22 second left in regulation to lift the Tanners (7-8-1) on Senior Night. Fellow seniors Courtney Smith and Aly Bortone also each scored two goals and senior Shantel Smith scored once. Seniors Noelle Koch, Jillian Kerwin and Courtney Cavanaugh also played well in the last home games for the Tanners.
North Andover 4, Ipswich 1: The Tigers fell to 5-8 and will need to win their final three matches to qualify for state tournament play. Freshman Max Benford had Ipswich’s win at third singles, 6-2, 6-3.
Danvers 4, Gloucester 1: Jim Cunningham moved up to No. 2 singles and won 6-3, 6-3 and Nick Lisichenok rolled at No. 1, 6-0, 6-0, as Danvers (14-2, 11-1 NEC) set up a showdown for the NEC title with Marblehead on Monday. Kevin Hodgkins/Jim McCarriston (6-2, 4-6, 6-4) and Chris Shalkoski/Eric MacKay (6-0, 6-2) swept doubles for the Falcons, who need to win Monday to earn a share of the crown.
Beverly 3, Hamilton-Wenham 2: Connor Irving and Masaya Okumura won a third-set tiebreaker, 8-6, to lift the Panthers (11-2). The No. 1 doubles team went 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 in their match win while No. 1 singles Peter Coletti (6-2, 6-2) and No. 2 Leonard Schulz (6-2, 6-1) won in straight sets.
Masconomet 3, Marblehead 2: Junior Mark Daniels and sophomore Cooper McVay outlasted Marblehead’s Justin Faia 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 at second doubles to win a supremely close match for the Chieftains. Masco’s Jack Roscoe and Sam Gordon (6-4, 6-4) also won, as did Alex Fizz (7-5, 6-1). Marblehead’s winners were Miles Barry (7-5, 6-1) and Dimitri Vlassov (who is 12-1 on the year and won 6-2, 6-1).
Masconomet 3, Marblehead 2: A win at second doubles by Caroline May and Jackie Emmons sealed the match for the Chieftains (10-3). Daneille Dunn (6-1, 6-1) and Evelyn Harbert (6-1, 6-1) also won for Masco, while Marblehead’s points came from Lily Frontero (6-2, 6-2) and Meagan Hanratty/Hannah Cohen (6-3, 7-5). The Magicians are 9-4.
Danvers 3, Gloucester 2: The Falcons (4-10) swept doubles with victories by the first team of Ellen Gagnon and Raquel Leslie (6-3, 6-3) and second team Ciara Mallon and Rhianna Leslie (6-0, 6-1) to edge Gloucester. No. 1 singles player Shannon Vellieux won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
Beverly 5, Revere 0: The Panthers (8-6) punched their state tournament ticket as Sophie Claus (7-6, 6-0), Maddie Tremblay (6-0, 6-2) and Carly Blau won in singles action. The doubles teams of Rudy Muprhy/Teyah Fasheh (6-3, 6-0) and Allsion Lewandowski/Kira Kennedy (6-1, 6-1) also won in straight sets.
