COLLEGE BASEBALL

Southern Maine 8, Endicott 4: The Gulls suffered their first loss in the NCAA Division 3 New England Baseball Regional Tournament. Endicott (32-15) will play the winner of MIT/St. Joseph’s of Maine today at noon in the double elimination format.

Sophomore shortstop Cody Hall went 3-for-4 and drove in a run to power the Gulls’ offense. Brett Holmgren and Tad Gold each had two hits and an RBI and Mike Kochiss knocked in a run. E.J. Martinez also had a pair of hits for Endicott.

Tyler Hill took the loss, allowing seven hits, a walk, five runs (3 earned) over seven innings. He struck out two.

COLLEGE GOLF

Endicott’S TEAL PLACES 9TH at NCAA Championships: Sophomore Austin Teal had the best individual performance by an Endicott golfer at the NCAA Division 3 Championships by placing ninth overall at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C. with a four round score of 294 (plus-6). A pair of 2-under 70s on Day 2 and 3 of the tournament put Teal in third place before he eventually finished eighth overall.
