Masconomet softball rallies in extras with walk-off win

Masconomet 4, Everett 3: Senior Emily Dow picked up her 18th win of the season as the Chieftains picked up their 13th consecutive win to end the regular season. Dow had walk-off hit in the bottom of the eight with two strikes and two out to win it for Masco. Freshman Mackenzie Saitta went 2-for-3 with a triple, single and run scored. Sophomore Kylie Currier finished 2-for-2 with a stolen base and run scored. The game was tied 1-1 after the seventh and Everett scored two runs on an error in the top of the eighth, but the Chieftains found a way to rally back for the second game in a row.

Revere 2, Beverly 0: The game was scoreless until the top of the seventh when Revere knocked in a pair of runs. Beverly (6-14) had one hit on the day, which was Olivia George’s single. George also had an unassisted double play to end the fifth inning. Emily Pitman gave up just two hits and struck out four.

Everett 1, Bishop Fenwick 0: Tommy Parsons was excellent on the mound for Fenwick, but he ended up being the tough-luck loser in this pitchers’ duel. He allowed one unearned run and struck out 10 in a complete-game effort. Jake Baressi had two hits for Fenwick (11-9) and Nick Bona had one.

Hamilton-Wenham 7, Ipswich 0: Peter Duval got the win on the mound for the Generals (11-5) in last night’s Rockport tournament. Duval struck out five, walked three and gave up just one hit, while going 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBI. Nick Tufts finished 3-for-4 with two stolen bases. H-W will play in the championship game tonight against Rockport.

Marblehead 5, Revere 0: Kelly Mealey (6-0, 6-2), Amanda Gilberg (6-0, 6-0) and Mia Griffin (6-0, 6-0) prevailed in singles play, while Sophia Capalbo/Alexa Hamelburg (6-0, 6-0) and Caroline Hooper/Kaelyn Attridge (6-0, 6-0) were victorious in doubles action for the Magicians (12-6).
