BASKETBALL
Endicott College is hosting the New England Prep School boys basketball quarterfinals tomorrow and semifinals on Friday. Tomorrow's four games will be played at 11 a.m., 1, 3 and 5 p.m., while Friday's semifinal action takes place at 6 and 8 p.m. Endicott will also be hosting the Class AAA, AA and A championship games Sunday at noon, 2, 4 and 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students/seniors, with children under 12 admitted for free. SOFTBALL
Danvers Girls Softball is holding tryouts March 24 for girls in the 3rd, 5th or 7th grade. These are the first grade levels for each of the Minor, Intermediate and Senior Leagues. All players trying out will be drafted to a team. Any player new to DGS in the Minor, Intermediate and Senior Leagues also needs to attend the tryouts, which will be held at Strike One on Route 1 North in Danvers. Tryouts are as follows: Minor League (3rd graders): registration 8 a.m., tryouts 8:15-9:30 a.m.; Senior League (7th graders): registration 9:15 a.m., tryouts 9:30-10:45 a.m.; Intermediate League (5th grade): registration 10:30 a.m., tryouts 10:45-noon. Danvers Girls Softball is accepting applications for head coaching positions for the 2012 season. Forms need to be received by March 10 in order to be considered.
HOCKEY
Marblehead Youth Hockey will be holding registration for the 2012-2013 season for all Mite, Squirt, Peewee, and Bantam levels Wednesday, March 14 from 6-9 p.m. at the Gerry 5 (side entrance) on Beacon Street. All new and current players must register prior to tryouts. Applications are available at www.marbleheadyouthhockey.com. MYHA projects to have two (2) all-female Hollyhock teams again next season in addition to their co-ed teams. Tryouts will be held March 26-27-28 in Lynn. Players must be registered before tryouts.
