Former Masconomet standout Chelsea Nason, now at Bates College, was named Maine Rookie of the Week by the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.

The Boxford native recorded her first career double-double for the Bobcats with 12 points and 10 rebounds in Bates’ 59-58 win over UNE last week.

Nason has started in six out of nine games this winter and has logged significant minutes recently. She is averaging 5.7 points per game and 5.7 per game at Bates (4-5).
