Masconomet 7, Pentucket 0: Senior captain Kayleigh White scored four goals as the Chieftains won their opener with ease. Paige Pratt, a fellow senior captain, added a goal and three assists. Senior Sammi Sherman added a goal; sophomore Abby Reblan notched her first varsity goal; and senior Courtney Bouchard dished out three assists. Senior Lexi Nason (1 save) and freshman Katy Pelletier (4 saves) split the shutout in goal.
North Shore Tech/Essex Aggie 2, Notre Dame 1: The Hawks (2-0) scored a pair of goals in the first half to rally from an early Notre Dame lead. Junior Dazzline Vega and sophomore Sarah Powers both netted their first varsity goals with assists from Mikayla Norden and Keely Gallagher. Junior sweeper Ava Swiniarski also played very for the North Shore/Essex Aggie.
Bishop Fenwick 8, Matignon 0: Danielle Deltorto scored two goals and assisted on two others to help the Crusaders improve to 2-0. Colleen Corcoran also scored twice for Fenwick while Annette Ruggiero, Abbey Rocker, Vicky Caruso and Juli Molino had one apiece.
Ipswich 0, Rockport 0: The Tigers had 14 corner kicks and more than 20 shots on goal, but couldn’t register a goal. ”They packed it in and really didn’t have too many (good) opportunities,” Ipswich (1-0-1) coach Nancy Waddell said. “We played well; it’s just early in the season and we’re not finishing the way we need to yet.”
Masconomet 2, Pentucket 0: The Chieftains (1-0-1) got a goal in each half and limited Pentucket to five shots on goal en route to the win. Stephen Pease and Reagan Charie had the goals with captain Adam Grammer collecting one assist. Willie Stewart earned the shutout and Kevin Gilbert and Jeff Penalla played particularly well on defense.
Marblehead 4, Whittier 0: The Magicians opened the new field turf at Piper Field with their first victory of the year. Kaya Ulcay, Will Gaddis, Claudio Alvarez and Jakob Wikar accouned for the scoring for Marblehead (1-0) while Pierce Law made two saves for the shutout.
Ipswich 3, Rockport 2: Matt Jeager continued to score at a torrid pace, netting three first half goals to lead the Tigers (2-0) to the win.
BEdford 3, Bishop Fenwick 0: A fine team effort went by the boards for Fenwick (1-2) against an outstanding Bedford squad.
Swampscott 2, Danvers 2: Tori Thistle and Danielle Mayblyum each scored unassisted goals for the Big Blue (0-1-1) while Christina King and Angela Videtta also stood out.
Anna O’Neill scored for Danvers on a feed from Kate Leonard early in the game and Leonard scored the game-tying goal in the second half. Goalie Nicole Papamecheil played well for Danvers, stopping nine shots. Devin Johnson and Nicole Kamens also played well for the Falcons (0-1-1).
Peabody 4, Malden 1: Sophomore Haley McCarron scored twice for the Tanners and senior captains Jenna Ferullo and Dayna Collins each had one goal as Peabody moved to 2-0. Diane Migneault, Cayli Armstrong and Evangeline Anderle contributed assists.
Salem 6, Revere 3: The Witches (1-1) earned their first win of the year on the back of Alexa Gilbert’s four goals and one assist. Kelly McLaughlin and Joanna Coleman also scored for Salem, which led by two goals most of the way, and Christina LeBlanc also played well.
Marblehead 51 1/2, Gloucester 20 1/2: Pitch Riley, Kyle Maulden and Matt Scholnick each played well for the Magicians, who improved to 2-0 with this win at Tedesco Country Club.
Swampscott 38 1/2, Salem 33 1/2: Swampscott got wins from Anthony Springthorpe (5-4) at No. 3, Max Cohen (6-3) at No. 4, and Corey Bleau (6-3) at No. 6 to edge the Witches at Olde Salem Greens. Kyle Doherty won at No. 1 for Salem, 5-4, and Cam Twomey prevailed at No. 8, 5-4, for Salem (1-2).
Hamilton-Wenham 139, Lynn Classical 96: Sophomore Harrison O’Brien earned medalist honors, finishing with a team-high 29 points to power the Generals to victory in their season opener. Scott Hughes was another strong performer with 26 points while Mike Gillis and Kevin Heppner each had 23 for H-W.
Lynn English 3, Danvers 0: In the first ever varsity match for Danvers, the Falcons fell 25-10, 25-19, 25-15 to conference rival Lynn English. Julia McNulty had five aces with 10 service points and Shannon Vellieux dished out 16 assists.
Peabody 3, Winthrop 0: The Tanners once again got balanced production and rolled to 25-22, 25-13, 25-22 wins over Winthrop. Carolyn Scacchi (9 kills, 2 blocks), Emily Diezemann (5 kills) and Rachel Barrett (15 service points, 5 aces) led the way for Peabody (2-0).
Somerville 3, North Shore Tech/Essex Aggie 1: The Bulldogs took the first game, 25-21, but dropped the last three (20-25, 18-25, 21-25) to slip to 0-2. Freshman Elizabeth Stasinos played well with 13 service points.
Revere 3, Marblehead 0: The Magicians (0-2) fell 25-21, 25-23, 25-15. Isabel Marcey had 12 assists for Marblehead, Michaela LeBlanc picked up 12 digs and Lindsay Simmons nailed down seven kills.
Beverly 3, Swampscott 1: The Panthers won 25-20, 25-15, 23-25, 25-22. Swampscott outside hitter Gina Asipenko had eight kills and eight aces while setter Faye Liakopoulos dished out 12 assists for the Big Blue (0-1).
Acton-Boxboro 3, Masconomet 2: The Chieftains fought hard, but lost 23-25, 25-9, 19-25, 15-13. Senior middle hitter Maddie Kelly had nine service points, 18 digs and three kills for Masco (1-1) while Natasha Murray added 12 digs and 15 kills.

Gordon 4, Salem State 2: Courtney Scott had a hat trick, including the last two goals of the game, to lift Gordon (3-0) over Salem State (0-2). Lauren Pazdziorny and Kesley Russell scored for the Vikings to make it 2-2 before Scott netted a pair to put the Fighting Scots back on top. Grace Fabry also scored for Gordon. Salem State’s Michaela Boyer made 14 saves and Gordon counterpart Anna Bury stopped six.
